When starting out it’s important to understand where you are. I know you didn’t wake up this morning to go to work for the fun of it. Do you get up because you enjoy what you do? Do you get up to pay bills? The breaking point for me was taking an honest look at where I was at in life.

I grew up in a home where my dad worked 12+ hour days and my mom worked 40 hours a week on top of raising 4 kids. I was accustomed to living pay check to pay check because I grew up that way. I woke up to go to a call center and grumble with everyone else who wondered if there was a better way. The running joke with new employees in a call center is that “it’s cute how they still have light in their eyes”. You can only be told to log in so many times before you realize you are overworked and underpaid.

Working next to guys twice my age saying the same things I was was utterly terrifying. There is never a perfect time to take a leap of faith. If you wait for your “moment” your life will pass you by!

If you spend 50 hours a week working for someone else, 10 hours commuting to work, and 6 hours avoiding work on lunch, when will you have the time to accomplish your dreams? When do you plan on starting?
